A quick way to protect your Privacy in Windows Vista



By default, Windows Vista displays a list of the recently used documents and programs in the Start Menu. In case you would like to protect your privacy, you can disable this functionality, and here is how:

  • Right Click the taskbar and clik Properties
  • Navigate to the Start Menu tab
  • Uncheck the following checkboxes:
    • Store and display a list of recently open files
    • Store and display a list of recently opened programs
