A quite prevalent Windows XP annoyance is that message it displays when one of your logical drives got full, offering you to run the Disk Cleanup utility.
Many people asked me how they can get rid of that annoying thing. So here’s the answer. Note that the implementation of this tweak involves the manipulation of the Windows Registry.
Remember! If you use the registry editor incorrectly, you might cause serious problems that might require you to reinstall your operating system. Use the registry editor at your own risk.
- Backup the registry file. Use instructions provided in section 2 here.
- Click Start , click Run and type Regedit to open your Registry Editor.
- Browse to My Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ Software\ Microsoft\ Windows\ CurrentVersion\ Policies\ Explorer.
- On the Edit menu, click New, and then click DWORD Value.
- Type NoLowDiskSpaceChecks.
- Set the DWORD value to 1.
Enjoy!
