There are multiple tricks that allows you to personalize your Windows desktop. Here one of the coolest: a registry tweak that allows you to modify your Recycle Bin icon label to any value you’ll want.
So here’s how you do it:
Remember! If you use the registry editor incorrectly, you might cause serious problems that might require you to reinstall your operating system. Use the registry editor at your own risk.
- Backup the registry file. Use instructions provided in section 2 here.
- Click Start , In the Start Search type Regedit to open your Registry Editor.
- Browse to My Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ CurrentVersion\Explorer\CLSID\.
- Locate the subkey {645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}
- Right Click the Default subkey and click Modify.
- In the Value Data input box , type the Recycle Bin’s new label - for example: Trash.
- Click OK
- Close the Registry Editor
- In case the Recycle Bin label hasn’t change, click F5
