Gmail and the Google Toolbar

The Google toolbar has plenty of relatively unknown features that’s worth exploring. Here are two extra neat toolbar features that will save you time when interacting with Gmail.
Note that both features require that you successfully login to Gmail with your credentials before using them. Both tips work in Firefox and Internet Explorer.

Feature 1: Quick preview the unread emails in your Gmail inbox from the Google toolbar

This is simple! Just click the arrow at the right hand side of your Gmail icon, and the list of the unread emails in your Gmail inbox will pop up!

Feature 2: Search items in your Gmail mailbox from the Google Toolbar

  • Open your browser
  • In your Google toolbar, type your search term in the Google search box, then click on Search and Select the Gmail icon.

  • Gmail will search for messages containing the search terms you just entered.
