Hey guys, how do I change the sound people hear when I sign off? I have a gun shot when I send IMs, but I want a reload noise when I sign on and off. How do I do that?

This doesn't really help you get others to hear your custom sound, but it explains how to get specific parts of a song. Most computers come with a file called Audacity, but if yours doesn't, download it here: audacity.sourceforge.net/
This is an audio editor. You can play the audio you choose and find the parts of the song you want to have. You simply highlight and delete whatever parts you don't want. Once you do this, go to file, export, and on the bottom right of the "save" window, right above the save button, it will give you the option of saving as a specific music file, wav, MP3, ogg, whatever. As for how to get custom IM sounds, google it.

yea i dont think you can get custom sounds to play on other people's pc's. because just invisioning the way it works, it seems that sound file needs to be uploaded to aim's server so that they can send that sound clip to anyone's pc when you send a message... im pretty sure this is why all the buddy sounds are stored and controlled through their website - not the software itself.
