Increase your blog traffic with Answers.com

Answers.com is a very popular Wiki-like web site that many of us use use for getting questions answered. What many of us don’t know is that Answers.com can help us to actually drive traffic to our blog.
If you are a subject expert matter, and your blog is an authority in its field, you can add your blog to the Related Blogs list for a certain topic, and be able to receive a moderate amount of extra traffic from Answers.com.
How to do it?
- Navigate to Answers.com
- Search for your most relevant blog keyword.
- Scroll down to the Blogs section.
- Click the Add to blog link to submit your blog to the Answers.com directory.
- Fill in the required information. Note that you can actually relate your blog to multiple Answers.com topics.
- Submit the form. Your blog will be reviewed, and good chances are that will also be approved and displayed in the Blogs section for some of the topics you specified.

HI Gili

I’m not sure how it works out to me, but I’ll surely give it a try. Please Stumble this post!
Hi,
I actually want to recommend an even easier way to submit you blog: http://www.answers.com/main/new_blogger.jsp – There’s the direct link to the submit form.
And if you like Answers.com, try http://www.wikianswers.com, where you can submit questions and get them answers by other users (and if you’re an expert on a topic or two, answer other users’ questions!)

Good point. You can also see a way to get added to Answers.com using their ‘Add’ Feature. Explained here:-http://www.vinodlive.com/2007/05/01/some-more-smart-blogging-tips/
Great tip! If your blog is about more than one topic will they accept it more then once or should I only submit to the topics my blog most closely resembles?
Hey Eric – Sharing which Answers.com topics you think your blog belongs with helps us to decide which topic to put it on. So the more you put, the easier it makes out job!

Thanks Liz for your prompt answers.
Gili, Did you get any considerable traffic after listing there?
There are many advantages of your web blog above a website, except it’s easy to setup and free. You can put every thing in your blog: from a couple of lines what it is on your mind or your new article just published elsewhere, or a product review. In principle, a blog is the same as a website, but you will need to update more frequently to get the visitors to your site. A major advantage of your web blog here above a website to getting major search engines like Google and Yahoo to visit your blog frequently is a technique called “pinging”. It’s a method of notifying all of the major search engines and blog directories, each time that you have updated your blog. The search engines will come and to take a look at your blog, thereby increasing traffic to your blog. If you link your blog, the search engines will follow the links from the blog pointing to your sites. This will help the search engine rankings of your sites as well!
