How to Speed up Internet Explorer 7.0

Internet Explorer 7.0 ships with a feature named the Phishing filter. This is a security feature that allows you to identify whether the Web site you are currently browsing was previously marked as a phishing site.
Generally speaking, the phishing filter is a nice feature. The thing is that every Web site you visit is checked against an up-to-the-hour online database by Microsoft and that process slows your Internet Explorer performance, making it even more inconvenient to use (if compared to Firefox)
If you are an advanced user, who’s well aware of online security hazards and capable of identifying phony Web sites, you can speed up your Internet Explorer by turning the phishing filter off. And here’s how to do it:
- Open Internet Explorer 7
- Click Tools the select Phishing Filter and Turn off Automatic Website Checking.
- Click OK
If while browsing the web you encounter a suspicious Web site, you can always check it manually through the Tools || Phishing Filter menu.

Cool. But I don’t normally use IE. I prefer Firefox over IE. This is surely a great tip for IE users. I use IE when I want to download something or check my Dataone account.
Hey Ram, Thanks for visiting. I also prefer FF and try to avoid IE. But until people will realize all FF benefits, we need to help them to speed up IE
All I found when using the filter was, it moving right and left. It never found the result for me anyway.. But I am with FF, so not a problem.. the best way to speed up IE 7 or 6 is to uninstall it.
