Lately, everyone seems to be launching a Digg like site. Here’s a new one i stumbled upon today. Diggirl is an Asian website that allows its users to vote for their favorite girls, and also download their photos.
A girl’s popularity is determined by either the number of diggs (or votes) and the number of downloads.
I must say that i am a bit concerned from the fact that although the site’s term of service strictly prohibit it, some of the ladies whose pictures show up at Diggirl might don’t know about it, or even worst, might disapprove their photos’ inclusion.
Question to my readers:
Do you think that this sort of Digg like services that focus on people instead of content are completely ok, or did we become products that everyone can rate?

When there are gals and full of hot babes it will get the attention of many people.
We are a society that loves to categorize and rate – television shows, books, movies, actors, musicians, artists, websites, blogs, social networking communities, cookware… the list goes on to infinity.
Do I think it’s right? To rate women with votes (diggs) the same as voting for news stories or movies to watch – Nope but I’m not surprised.
Tammy,
Thanks for your important observation. I pretty much share your view on the topic.
