Medal of Honor Airborne demo supported video cards

The much anticipated EA Medal of Honor (MHO) Airborne Demo is by all means very impressive, however for some gamers (specially the non- experienced) it turned to be a source of disappointment.

Apparently, gamers who downloaded the MHO demo, failed to notice the fact that the game requires a video card that supports DirectX 9.0 Shader Model 3.0. After downloading (1.34 GB) and installing the software, MHO won’t run and will throw a  ”The video card you are running is not supported” error message.

A reader asked me whether there is a workaround for this issue. Unfortunately there is NOT (unless EA will release a patch that will allow other video cards). On a personal note, I believe that EA’s decision to support a limited spectrum of video cards might prove as an erroneous move,  as non-experienced gamers might give up MHO due to hardware limitations.

As a service for my readers i would like to provide a list of the video cards currently supported by the MHO Airborne demo software. Please make sure that your video card is supported up front:

DirectX 9.0c, NVIDIA GeForce 6600 GT, ATI Radeon
X1300 Pro, or better with Shader 3.0 support for Windows XP or
Vista (Note: NVIDIA 6800XT, 6800LE, 7100GS, 7200GS, 7200LE,
7300GS, 7300GT cards not supported).

Enjoy MHO!

Just like all you guys out there, i’m a Medal Of Honor Fan until this beauty of a game came along.WE NEED A PATCH. Brand new $1000.00 lap top and card not compatable.A $100.00 additional card is not worth a $10.00 game!!!!!!!!!!!Yea you heard right. The game has gone down to only $10.00 because most people can’t play it.The only thing its good for now is target practice.

Hey. For me, Maverick’s suggestion worked perfectly. I created a folder in the games install directory which now contains his program, as set it up following his instructions and i can now run it on pretty much a low end laptop with a non-dedicated gfx intel onboard 4 (which utilizes some of my ram as extra video memory — :S) on the lowest display setting and the game runs perfectly fine. I even created a shortcut to the batch file it created and saved it to my desktop (Keeping it clean, replacing the icon etc.) and i now use it (On W7 i have to run as admin.. but meh) without even the slightest trouble. Every now and then the game stumbles a bit but ive completed the first 4 levels now with no sincere difficulties.

To all those who cant get it to work, eh, its not compatible with some gfx cards but if MY laptop is powerful enough, im sure with enough playing around someone could get it to run on a 64bit mac.. well maybe not.. but comeon, if what he said didnt work for you and ur certain u followed his instructions then do it again.. doesnt work? stop doing it, your goign to screw something up :P
