How to access Facebook from school and work?

A quick method for getting access to Facebook at college or at work

Question:

How to get on Facebook from school or work?

Answer:

Just like many other huge Social Networking web sites (MySpace, Hi5, Bebo etc), Facebook is blocked at most colleges and workplaces. These authorities try to keep you on task by eliminating the option to get on such web sites. To get past their “blocks” and access Facebook at school or work you will need to use a free proxy. By using a web proxy you are able to still view the website even though they have it blocked. Most proxies are quite straightforward to use, so the most time consuming task will be to find a proxy web site which wasn’t already blocked by your school or workplace. Follow these instructions below to learn how to do this:

1. Go to on of the proxy sites listed in this free proxy list or in this other free proxy list or alternatively search in one of these other proxy lists.

2. Now by typing in Facebook.com you will be able to surf Facebook and the entire web anonymously.

Update: Here’s a new way to overcome Facebook blockage at school or workplace: a Facebook application that allows you to identify proxy web pages that will help you to unblock Facebook at school.

Another good option that works from Iran and China as well is http://www.access-any-website.com
It is working on https so it is much harder to block.

Regarding the list of proxies mentioned earlier in the comments, this might be a problem because they mostly work on non standard ports which are usually blocked.

go to google translate and translate any random language to engelish (or whatever your language you have) and it’ll work :)

  41. LightsUpInWashingtonHeights says:

You don’t need a proxy at all. Here’s what I do: when typing the address in the address bar type it as “https://www.facebook.com/” instead of “http://www.facebook.com/” … http and https are schematically identical, but most blocking systems at schools or workplaces pnly block the http version of the url. The only con to this method is that each time a different url is used (i.e. page reloads after logging in) it will automatically use the http url. You have to copy the url and paste it into the address bar and add the s to make it https each time. It can get tedious, but it works.
