Make your custom groovy Google page with Groovle.com

Are you bored from your plain Google search homepage? If so, you might want to look into Groovle, a brand new custom search service based on Google, which  allows you to easily upgrade your standard Google.com page look and feel and still maintain its entire functionality.

Groovle allows you to build  two types of custom and extra cool Google.com custom search pages, which you can later easily keep as your browser homepage:

•  A custom made homepage, displaying celebrities, sports and nature related images.
• A self made homepage, which you can easily create by uploading an image file to Groovle’s image hosting servers and having it displayed as your homepage’s background.

My take on Groovle

I gave Groovle a quick test and was surprised from its ease of use. I had a custom web page featuring Angelina Jolie running in seconds, apparently, i wasn’t satisfied, and decided to change it to the lovely Cameron Diaz. Take a look:

The self made home page is also easy to build, although I missed the ability to manually resize the picture i uploaded as I saw fit.

Overall, Groovle looks quite good, although it will be interesting to see whether they will incorporate a few essential widgets such as RSS feeds, Clocks, stock info etc’ to their custom search page.
