The Settlers – Rise of an Empire System Requirements

September 25th was the release day of The Settlers – Rise of an Empire, a new strategy game for PC made by UBI Soft.
Rise of an Empire is not a trivial game. Your mission is to build and sustain medieval towns, and eventually rule your area. This demands that you’ll build not only a flawless physical infrastructure for your city (fortifications, roads etc’) , as well as make sure that all your town inhabitants are periodically provided with food, but also manage a net of alliances with other towns in order to expand your span of control.
As far as the technical details, the system requirements are OK, no big deal for a gaming PC.
Minimum System Requirements:
OS: Windows XP, , Windows Vista
DirectX 9.0c (June 2007 release)
CPU: Pentium 4 2.0 GHz, Athlon XP 2000+ processor
RAM: 512 MB
Video Card: 128 MB DirectX 9.0c-compliant video card with vertex shader 1.1 and pixel shader 1.3 support (NVIDIA GeForce4 Ti 4200, ATI RADEON 9500)
Sound Card:DirectX 9.0c-compliant sound card
HD: 2 GB free hard drive space
DVD ROM drive
To date, The Settlers -Rise of an Empire is not listed as an option in the gaming system requirements test utility, however i am quite sure it will be added ASAP.
Before purchasing The Settlers -Rise of an Empire you might want to try the single player demo (Requires registration with GameSpot). In the mean time, please make sure that your PC meets the minimum requirement before attempting the demo install.
Enjoy!

Not a bad game, but what does it add to the genre that civilization or age of empires hasn’t already done?
