Question:
I started off a Facebook profile a few weeks ago,and entered my work and School information.
Apparently, that made my profile visible to a vast amount of individuals who worked and studied with me in the past. I understand that upon inputting my school and workplace info I became a part of those networks. How can I leave a network in Facebook?
Answer:
You are spot on in your observation. Schools you have attended and places you have worked in are considered as networks on Facebook. You can easily leave those networks by following this procedure:
- Login to Facebook.com
- Hit Networks
- Select your School or work place name
- Scroll down to the page bottom and hit Leave This Network
Alternatively, you can delete your School and workplace info from the Education and Work tab, and that will exclude from that network.
A different approach you can take, is to configure your Facebook profile privacy settings, so only friends will have full visibility on your profile.
