How to solve the wp_post2cat’ doesn’t exist problem in Wordpress?

Two months ago i upgraded one of my web sites’ backbone to Wordpress 2.3. Like almost everyone else i encountered no issues with the technical upgrade, which was pretty smooth. After upgrading, i went through my plugin list and make sure to upgrade all plugins flagged for upgrade.
So far so good. After running a more intensive QA session on my blog, i discovered the annoying wp_post2cat’ doesn’t exist error which ungracefully popped up when editing or publishing posts. If you run the Google Sitemaps generator plugin on your blog, you should note that this little plugin is the major cause of the wp_post2cat’ doesn’t exist annoyance.
The solution is to simply deactivate your existing version (i used to run 2.7.1) of the Google Sitemaps Generator plugin and install and activate version 3.0.2. Apparently, this plugin is not automatically flagged for upgrade by Wordpress, so you need to make sure that you upgrade it on your own.
That’s it, good luck with Wordpress 2.3 :)
