Answer:

Hiding the relationship status is not really simple. I won’t recommend anyone who doesn’t feel comfortable with HTML scripting to go for it.

In essence here’s what you need to do:

Get rid of the entire details section. Use the hide MySpace details tutorial. This will actually delete the entire Interests table that includes the Here for, Zodiac Sign, Drink/Smoke, Orientation etc’. You’ll need to recreate the applicable parts of this table in the next step.
Add a custom content section to your MySpace profile. This new section will show the Details table information that you have hidden in the previous step (except the relationship status of course).

That’s it. Sometimes i really wonder why MySpace doesn’t allow a “No Answer” for relationship status
