Download and save LinkedIn contacts

If you are frequent user of LinkedIn, chances are that you have accumulated a fair number of contacts and connections.
If that’s the case, i would recommend that you periodically download those contacts from your LinkedIn account and save them as Outlook contacts or locally as an Excel file for backup.
Here’s how you backup your LinkedIn connections:
- Login to Linked In, then navigate to your Contacts tab.
- At the bottom right of your Contacts page, hit Export Connections.
- Your next step will be to pick an export format (Outlook, Outlook Express, Yahoo Mail, Microsoft Outlook contact cards etc’), and input a security code.
- Hit Export. Your download of LinkedIn contact should now start.
- If you have selected Microsoft Outlook on the previous step, you should have a .csv (comma separated values) file containing all your connection details available on Linked In (e-mail, company, phone numbers etc’) which you’ll be able to easily import to Outlook 97 and up. When importing your contacts to outlook, remember to select the “Do not import duplicate items” options, or you’ll find yourself with duplicated contacts.
- I would suggest that after getting your contacts on Outlook, you don’t delete the connection files and save it as a backup on your personal computer hard disk or an external drive.
