How to change your display name in Facebook?

People sometimes need to change their names in Social networking sites, when they get married or change their name into something else, or just for fun. Changing your display name in Facebook is really easy and can be done in a matter of minutes.

Step – 1:

Login to Facebook and look for Account in the top-right corner of the page.

Click on Account and a drop down list will appear as shown below.

Click on Account Settings, which is the third link in the list.

Step – 2:

The Account Settings Page will load and you will be able to see a long list of options which will let you customize your account.

The first option in the list is your name. In order to change it, click on the change button found towards the right, above your current name.

Change your name, either first, middle or last name to what you want and click “Change Name”.

Step – 3:

The last step is the confirmation page. You will be shown a list of things which are not allowed. Make sure that you adhere to those rules and check once again if the name you have chosen is correct.

Click on Confirm Request and you are done. It will take around a day for Facebook to approve your name change. It will not be changed immediately. So wait until it changes and your new will appear everywhere in Facebook where you are mentioned.
