How to make yourself a custom Google Plus URL?

Here’s a question from one of our readers:
I just got into Google Plus and I’m loving it already. Can you please tell me how to get vanity URLs with Google Plus like we have in Facebook?
Thanks for the question. As of now, Google doesn’t offer vanity URL to Google Plus profiles, but there’s a workaround for this with a secure third-party service called Google Plus Nick.

- Under nickname, choose a name for yourself.
- Under ‘Your Google+ ID’, enter the number you see in your Google Plus profile’s URL. (Just copy-paste it).
- Finally, click on ‘Add’ and you’ll have an unofficial Google Plus vanity URL like this (gplus.to/gmanka)

That option isn’t currently available, but you can use other similar services like http://gplus.name/ to get yourself a vanity URL.
