How to create an account on Instagram?

We had a question from one of our readers :

I would like to share my photos from my iPod in the web using Instagram. But I have not used it before and I don’t have an account in Instagram. Can you please tell me how to sign up for a new account in Instagram?

Instagram is an application developed for Apple devices, used for sharing photos in the web. Follow the steps below to create an account in Instagram.

• Install the application in your device from the iTunes App Store.
• Open Instagram from your device by tapping on its icon in the Home screen.
• The application opens with a greeting message, tap on OK to exit the message.
• Now tap on Sign Up in the bottom of the app page.

• Register yourself with Instagram by providing your email address, username and password in the respective fields. (Phone and Picture are optional)

• Tap on Done when you are done to create your account.
• Now tap on Log in in the home page of the app to log into Instagram and to use the application.
