Jerry asks: Hey, i wanted to know whether there is a way to export Google docs and spreadsheets, so i will be able backup them later on. Thanks in advance.

Answer:

Thanks for your useful question, Jerry. Exporting Google docs and spreadsheets is easy using a slick script that you can use if you are on Firefox. Long time ago i have put together a simple how-to on backing up Google docs. I suggest that you look into it and implement the instructions i provided for exporting Google documents. Look at the end of the how-to for a simple way to making a mass export of your entire set of Google Docs.

Thanks for your note Kenneth. To my best knowledge Helvetica fonts are not free. That said, if you are looking for a free Helvetica font (or Helvetica like), i definitely recommend that you’ll try Coolvetica. This free font (available as MAC and Windows TrueType and PostScript, as well as OpenType) looks quite similar to Helvetica, and can be used as a quite neat and free substitute.

Question:

Lately, i have noticed some inconsistency in the service level i get from my internet service provider. Can you guide me on how should i measure my broadband speed?

Answer:

A broadband speed test usually involves the process of downloading and uploading a file for a particular time to get the average download and upload speed. The Intel Broadband speed test is an easy to use web site that allows you to execute a broadband speed test. In order to find the speed of your internet connection just click on the start button. After a few seconds the tool will display your broadband speed in the scale between 20k – T3 connections.

There is also a download calculator tool on the same page. The nice thing about this tool is that i can calculate the estimated download completion time for the particular file size in a particular time. With these tools it is possible to find the speed at random intervals. Make an average of it to find your exact broadband speed.

I subscribed to multiple web based services such as image hosting services and other web sites that require your email on registration. Since then i am unfortunately receiving plenty of unwanted email in my mailbox. I heard of disposable email solutions, in which you can easily get a temporary email address which you can use in order to subscribe to different services. Can you recommend on some of those services?

Answer:

Sure, on a previous post, i recommended a few temporary email solutions. Lately i have been using MyTrashMail and GuerillaMail. Both provide easy to use protection not only from the annoyance you described in your question, but also from other potential security issues such as spoofs and exploits from any kind.
